The Relief Fund

The DFWA has a Relief Fund to assist the welfare of both members and former members of the Association, and ADF members and their families in times of hardship, where existing funding or grants or entitlements do not provide support.  For the purposes of the Trust, "families" includes widows, widowere and their dependents.

The Fund is controlled by three Trustees appointed by the National Executive of the Association.  The Current Trustees are:

  • Major General Adrian Clunies-Ross (Retd) (Chairman)
  • Mr Kerry Mellor
  • Mr Trevor Goodhew

The normal means of assistance from the Fund will be in the form of an interest free loan to be repaid over a period to be determined by the Trustees.  However, direct money grants from the Fund can be made, where, in the opinion of the Trustees, circumstances are exceptional.

Application for assistance from the Fund will only be accepted on the approved application form obtainable from and submitted through a Branch of the Association.

Branches can assist applicants with their applications and are then responsible for investigating each application and processing it.

The ABN of the DFWA Relief Fund is: 71 100 360 056
