The Defence Force Welfare Association (DFWA) regularly conducts surveys of its membership and beyond to better understand the experiences and sentiment of current and former serving members and their families. These surveys provide the lived experience basis for submissions that we make.
DFWA is a Defence Force Remuneration Tribunal (DFRT) “Authorised Intervener”. This status gives DFWA permission to make representations to the Tribunal on matters concerning ADF pay and conditions.
This year, the DFRT will be considering the ADF Workplace Remuneration Arrangement (WRA) 2026-29. This arrangement will set the annual pay increases for ADF Members.
DFWA is conducting a series of surveys to better understand ADF members’ current work and financial experiences, and general sentiment, to support its WRA 2026-29 submission:
- Pre-Offer Survey will focus on respondents’ current situation before the pay offer is made
- Post-Offer Survey will focus on respondents’ attitude and sentiment towards the pay offer that the ADF will present to the Tribunal.
- Follow-Up Survey will be conducted in one year
